Huddersfield v Chelsea

Referee: Chris Kavanagh
Assistants: Peter Kirkup, Marc Perry
Fourth official: Michael Oliver

David Wagner’s side surprised a lot of people last season, not lease Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with a refreshing brand of football from a newly promoted side.

Though their top-flight status wasn’t confirmed until the last knockings of the season, no one will begrudge them another campaign amongst the elite.

The Blues have looked comfortable in training under Maurizio Sarri, however, after their meek surrender to Manchester City in the Community Shield, the Italian will want Chelsea to be at it from the first whistle.

Chris Kavanagh will do well to keep a tight rein particularly in the opening exchanges, and PGMOL have made exactly the right call by having Michael Oliver as fourth official.

Having such an experienced head in his ear can only be of benefit.
